Experimented with Saran wrap for the background. The colors were a real challenge for me. Watercolor, about 45 minutes.

Experimented with Saran wrap for the background. The colors were a real challenge for me. Watercolor, about 45 minutes.
I like the background, and the general shape of the lines around the flower. The green of the stem looks too bright, especially with the way the red grows so dark around the edge of the petals.
Hmm, you’re right about the stem; a wash of yellow would dull it and provide a better connection to the petals…
