Villain Month: Character Sheet Redux

Since this is the last day for Archduke Richard Khiro, I’m writing up a character sheet for him again to see how far he’s progressed and how much more I learned about him. And I actually wrote the answers all over again, just to avoid redundancy. And to, you know, procrastinate from harder things.
Character’s Full Name: Archduke Richard Khiro.
Reason or meaning of name: “Richard” means “powerful leader”, apparently. I pulled “Khiro” out of the air, though it also appears to be the name of a skateboard store. Huh.

Reason for nickname: He’s fond of murdering women.
Birthdate: Late January.
Astrological Sign: Aquarius. It actually fits him really well.

Hair color: Once blonde, now all grey.
Distinguishable hair feature (bald, receding hairline, etc.): He has a noble’s peak. Naturally.

How does character spend a rainy day? He thinks back on his victims, and although he may not want to, his second wife Tabitha.
BACKGROUND
Hometown: A sparse settlement about 30 miles from the massive city of La Crohi. Aside from the massive mansion of his family, it consists of small huts of villagers trying to survive on the land.
Type of childhood: Spoiled. His parents were always distant, but that may have been because they were ghosts for most of his youth.
First memory: Biting his nanny.
Most important childhood event that still affects him/her: His parents died and returned as ghosts. Do you know how hard it is to shut ghosts up?

Religion: He’s not religious at all; when Tabitha was alive, he went to church for her sake, but immediately stopped again upon her death.
Finances: One of the richest men in La Crohi, he has his fingers in most sources of money — the railroads, stocks, steel industries in the north, wine industries in the west and south, and more.
FAMILY
Mother: Adienne Khiro.
Relationship with her: In a word, ineffectual. She didn’t and doesn’t care what he does, as long as it is done with a proper appearance.
Father: Archduke Tobir Khiro.
Relationship with him: Strained. Tobir never quite understood that his death meant he no longer ruled the mansion.
Siblings: A stillborn sister when he was three.
CHILDREN
Does character have child(ren)? No.
OCCUPATION
Where does Character work? He doesn’t.
ATTITUDE
Character’s greatest fear: Richard’s biggest fear is that one day he will be unable to sate his need to hunt.
Why? He is so consumed by the urge that there is nothing else left of him. It’s like a beast inside him that is soothed from the killing. If he can’t quench that thirst, it may completely destroy him.
What is the worst thing that could happen to him/her? See above.
What single event would most throw character’s life in complete turmoil? If he was thwarted from a hunt.
Why? See above.
Character is most at ease when: He’s in a situation he knows he controls.
Most ill at ease when: Something unexpected occurs that throws a wrench into his plans.
Depressive or SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder)? No.
Priorities: Always his hunts.
Philosophy: “I want it, therefore it’s mine.”
How s/he feels about self: He finds it silly to worry about one’s self.
Past failure s/he would be embarrassed to have people know about: He once tried to kill a woman while drunk, and ended up tripping over his own feet and leaving her to think he was just another overeager john. This was soon after Tabitha’s death.
If granted one wish, what would it be? To have Tabitha back.
PERSONALITY
Greatest source of strength in character’s personality (whether s/he sees it as
such or not): Beyond not getting caught, he doesn’t care what other people think about him. This gives him the confidence to do whatever he pleases.
Greatest source of weakness in character’s personality (whether s/he sees it as
such or not): Overconfidence. He thinks other people are quite stupid and simple.
Character’s soft spot: Vanity. He loves the pretty things.
Is this soft spot obvious to others? Yes.
Biggest vulnerability: He sees himself as untouchable, and tends to underestimate others.
Which of the 7 deadly sins does your character fight (or give into, willingly or not)? He fights sloth (exercises every day), but gives into lust, wrath, and pride.
Which of the 7 virtues does your character have (or fight against)? Patience.
TRAITS
Optimist or pessimist: Pessimist.
Why? He doesn’t think highly of others.
Introvert or extrovert: Extrovert; he can be very charming and likeable when the need calls for it.
Drives and motivations: Women. He loves owning them.
Talents: Good at painting, with a strong drive and the charm needed to win others over.
Extremely skilled at: Hunting.
Extremely unskilled at: Emotional connections.
Good characteristics: Patience, confidence, strength, intelligence, occasional kindness.
Character flaws: Lack of respect for others, enjoys murder, is not above lying, and must always have his way.
Mannerisms: True to his mother’s wishes, he’s always very proper.
Peculiarities: Well, you’ve probably figured this one out. ![]()
Biggest regret: That he married Tabitha. She gave him a taste of love, and now he finds himself more broken for it.
Minor regrets: That he can’t find a good method of preserving flesh.
Biggest accomplishment: Hunting down a female chimera (shapeshifter).
Minor accomplishments: He recently was interviewed over his paintings, and successfully bribed a few politicians to push for banning brothels in La Crohi, forcing prostitutes out into the streets.

Does anyone else know? Rumors in social circles and common knowledge in the villages that surround his mansion.
If yes, did character tell them? No.
If no, how did they find out? He often mocks the villagers about it, inviting them after a hunt to look at his bounty.
SELF-PERCEPTION
One word character would use to describe self: Connoisseur.
One paragraph description of how character would describe self: I am a connoisseur of all that is fine in life — of wine, of pigment and paper, of thought and flesh. Do not tell me I should not please myself; what is life if not the search for pleasure?
What does character consider best physical characteristic? His crack shot.
What does character consider worst physical characteristic? A worsening tremor in his hand.
Are these realistic assessments? Yes.
How CHARACTER thinks others perceive him/her: He doesn’t think about things like that. That is beneath him.
What three things would CHARACTER most like to change about self? (#1 most
important, #2 second most important, etc.)
1. The lack of Tabitha in his life.
2. His growing age.
3. The hints of arthritis in his knees.
Why? Tabitha was the only human being he ever bonded with. The other two interfere with his hunts.
If change #1 was made, would character be as happy as s/he thinks? Possibly. It would depend on whether Tabitha could live with his murderous side.
INTERRELATION WITH OTHERS
Is character divorced? A widower, twice over.
Has character ever cheated on signficant other? Yes, with both.
How does character relate to others? He doesn’t. He’s lost most of his empathy.

Strangers? A charming, suave gentleman who nonetheless has an off-feel to him. They call it “eccentricity of the rich”.
Friends? He has none, only acquaintances, and they view him much the same way as strangers do.
Wife/Husband/Lover? His first wife never truly got to know him. Tabitha felt he was as “dangerous as a wish” and twice as mad as she was.
Hero/Heroine? The heroine doesn’t like him at all; he smells very wrong to her, but she can’t place why.
How does character view hero/heroine? His next victim.
First impression: Not sure what they’re asking for.
GOALS
Immediate goals: Find a woman not from the village. He can’t use their women too much or they’ll be unable to breed and replenish his hunting grounds.
Long range goals: To hunt down a female chimera, one more dangerous than the raccoon chimera he killed.
How does character plan to accomplish goals? He needs to find a guide willing enough to take him through the Chimerae Territories

Good Character sheet.
PS: Do you draw your own characters? I would draw mine but my artistic talents lean more towards stick figures.
@Tom: Thanks for stopping by.
@karmagrl76: Yeah, just a teensy one.
And yep, I also draw my characters; I had an interest in art before I really began writing.
